Welcome to Windle School for Young Children

Opened in 2001, Ann Windle School for Young Children is named for Dr. Ann Windle, who was a pioneer in early childhood education and a former member of the Denton ISD Board of School Trustees. 

Dr. Windle taught classes from kindergarten through college and received her doctorate in early childhood education and child development from Texas Christian University. She served as secretary while on the Denton ISD Board of School Trustees. In addition, Dr. Windle also served as state treasurer of the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children and as finance chair of the Denton Association for the Education of Young Children. 

The Ann Windle School for Young Children was funded by both the 1996 and 1999 capital improvement plans.
